31 January 2010: Lunar New Year Dinner and Hong Bao Presentation to PA recipients.

The event was organised by Kampong Glam's Citizens’ Consultative Committee and its Women Executive Committee. What was special this year is that the LiveBand, Silver Streams was playing for the diners the whole evening.  Members of the WEC together with the Guest of Honour,  Ms Denise Phua sang Lunar New Year songs cheerfully with many participants dancing on the floor on their own! There was a health mass exercise item and a belly dance performance by 2 senior ladies.

Almost 200 P ublic Assistance including 8 from St Vincent Home and 13 from Rochore Kongsi had dinner, sang and danced, and received hong baos and goodies before they left.

Guest of Honour, MP Ms Denise Phua, together with the grassroots leaders were waitresses and waiters for the evening. This is in line with the tradition of leaders serving at the ground.

The PA recipients were very happy, enjoying the good food, attention and service from the 'servant leaders' as well as the wonderful performances.

A highly energetic and cheerful joyous evening!
