20 Sept 2008: Kampong Glam Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circle (IRCC) Table-Top Exercise

Members from Kampong Glam Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circle (IRCC) met for an interactive and fruitful Table-Top Exercise (TTX) held at Kampong Glam Community Club.

IRCC Chairman, Mr Chia Keng Hian BBM and members including MP and Advisor to Kampong Glam GROs, Ms Denise Phua; CCC Chairman, Mr Woon Tai Hean BBM and CDEC Chairman, Mr Tay Kerk Khong PBM and his committee members viewed a video presentation on the importance of the Community Engagement Programme (CEP) and the TTX, especially on the roles of IRCC members.

There are three, namely (1) cascade information to members and activate crisis response plans, (2) work closely with MCYS to restore calm and confidence and bring normalcy to the community quickly, and (3) organize dialogues and joint projects to build cohesion and solidarity in the community. Members then brainstormed on actions they will take and resources they will share in the event of crises or community-endangering incidents.
