The Opening Ceremony kicked-off amidst the roar(delete s) of the lion dance troupe and thousands of people at Albert Mall. It was followed by the thunder-clapping of fire crackers and the showering of blessings from the God of Wealth & Prosperity. Guest-of-honor, MP Ms Denise Phua and grassroots leaders and the crowds witnessed the traditional Chinese musical performances and an entertaining cross-talk by two renowned artistes!

It was a colourful and powerful start to the annual week-long Lunar New Year Fair for goodies, decors, flowers and fruits for the season. Ms Denise Phua then made a tour of the stalls and interacted with the residents and proprietors. She said that the year ahead would be difficult, but if we work hand-in-hand together and united, we will overcome the challenges and emerge a stronger nation.
