11 January 2009: Kampong Glam Lunar New Year Dinner & Presentation of Hongbaos to PA Recipients.

Donning aprons with the words "Jalan Besar GRC (Kampong Glam) Grassroots Leaders. Serving The People". 50 top grassroots leaders, led by Guest-of-honour, MP for Jalan Besar GRC and Advisor to Kampong Glam GROs, Ms Denise Phua served dinner to our elderly and needy.

Held on 11 Jan 2009, more than 200 Public Assistance recipients were treated to an early Lunar New Year dinner including 'yi seng' donated by Jin-Jin Restaurant. After dinner, everyone received a goodie bag of food items and hongbaos of $60 each from funds raised by the grassroots.

Our elderly guests were further entertained by members of the Women Executive Committee with three lively Lunar New Year melodies too.

It was an evening of hope and cheer despite a challenging year ahead for our country.

Grassroots leaders from Kampong Glam vow to continue to serve our residents in whatever way we can.
