01 October 2009: Children’s Day for PCF Kampong Glam @ Albert Mall.

1st October 2009 was a memorable Children’s Day for PCF Kampong Glam.

PCF Kampong Glam Education Centre and Kg Glam Mid Autumn Festival Working Committee had jointly orgainsed a Children’s Day celebration at Albert Mall. This celebration was warmly supported by Kampong Glams grassroots leaders with many turning up even on a weekday!

Our Guest of Honor, Ms Denise Phua, MP for Jalan Besar GRC (Kg Glam Division) graced the occasion.

More than 400 parents and children turned up for the 3 hours of fabulous, fun and exciting events. Programmes included an Educational Talk on Crime Prevention by the Rochor NPC; a Skit performed by Arts Theatre Singapore Ltd; a Magic Show; a Sing –Along Session rounded up by a Fancy Dress Competition.

Each contesting team in the Fancy Dress Competition was given some recycled items to work on the best outfit for the child within 40 minutes. With limited “resources” the 10 teams were able to use their creativity to outshine each other. They each won NTUC vouchers.

The marvelous magician was able to entertain and bring laughter to both the children and adults.

Many residents and tourists who were at the Albert Mall were fascinated by the event and joined in the fun as well.
